Fredrik Lestrup ready for Dunlop V8 Supercars premiere


Under the sunlight in Adelaide Fredrik Lestrup prepares himself for his first race weekend in the Dunlop V8 Supercars Series. The championship has attracted a 30 + car strong field for the opener and Fredrik looks forward to the premiere in the # 44 Pacific Hoists Rsport Race Engineering Holden V8.
“I am eager to go now,” he says. “Today a big racing dream of mine comes true and I couldn’t be more excited. Preparations are done and we feel ready.”

The  Adelaide street circuit attracts a huge crowd for the season opener Clipsal 500 and the track itself is full of challenges, especially with temperatures up to 30 degrees celsius during the race. Fredrik acknowledged the challenge ahead during the track walk with his engineer.
“This is my first time on a street circuit to begin with and to do it here in a V8 Supercar is a big challenge for sure. The track looks very challenging and there are quite a few interesting parts and it’s no doubt the biggest challenge I’ve met so far. I’m going into this with very realistic expectations. First and foremost I want to reach the finish line in both races and build on the experience. The competition is very high here so to come away with points and a mid pack position would be cause for celebration.”

Good first V8 test at Winton Raceway


On Monday R Sport Race Engineering and Fredrik Lestrup arrived at Winton Raceway outside Melbourne for the first pre-season test ahead of the season opener in Adelaide in two weeks time. This was Fredriks first and only opportunity before the season starts to sample the Holden V8 Commodore he will drive at Adelaide.

Fredrik was happy after his first test with the new car and left Winton full of impressions.
“It was a day of many firsts and a completely new experience for me”, says Fredrik. “I felt we had a very good test and it was very important to get a full test day before the season start. This is completely different to what I’ve driven before and there are a lot of things to get used to. Tyres for once are very important and it will be critical to understand and manage them in the races. I’m happy with my own driving today and we didn’t have any problems so I could get a lot of mileage. It was very different to anything I’ve driven before but a lot of fun.”

The team will now go back to Sydney where they will analyze the first test day of the season and prepare for the Clipsal 500 at Adelaide in less than two weeks time.



Fredrik Lestrup V8 Dunlop Supercar Holden launched today at Pacific Hoists headquarter


The car that will take Swede Fredrik Lestrup into the Dunlop V8 Supercar series as the first international driver was launched with its 2014 livery at the Pacific Hoists headquarters today. The ex-Garry Rogers Motorsport Holden V8 Commodore engineered by Rsport RACE Engineering and supported by the Australian Materials Handling company Pacific Hoists will make its debut in the Dunlop V8 Supercar Series in Adelaide later this month.

In front of 60 attending guests the car was launched in its 2014 livery and the first of many rounds of a pit stop competition was also held.

Title sponsor will be Pacific Hoists with additional support from German glass manufacturer Licht & Harmonie and Swedish watch manufacturer Halda 1887. Fredrik Lestrup expressed delight in the support that has taken him around the world to a debut in Dunlop V8 Supercars.
“I feel proud and grateful for the support and confidence shown in me by Pacific Hoists and I am very excited about the plans we have together for the year,” he says. “It’s been a short but intense time since my first test last year and I want to send a very special thank you to Nandi Kiss and Mark Robertson who helped organize that test and the contacts which have made my debut in Australia possible this year with great support both in Australia and from Europe. It will be an exciting year where I will fulfill one of my racing dreams and I am very motivated by the enthusiasm and commitment I’ve met so far from all the partners involved in this.”

Swedish racing driver Fredrik Lestrup enters Australian Dunlop V8 Supercar series for 2014


Entering his tenth season of car racing Fredrik Lestrup embarks on his biggest motorsport challenge yet as he has finalized plans to drive in the Australian Dunlop V8 Supercar series in 2014. Fredrik will join Rsport RACE Engineering in a 2012 Holden Commodore for the full season.

The 14 race long season runs over seven race weekends and starts in Adelaide at the end of February, finishes in Sydney in December and also includes the legendary Bathurst race.
– This is a dream come true and a fantastic but also difficult challenge, says Fredrik. My ambition to make this happen definitely increased after the test last year when I first had a chance to drive these cars. I want to thank all the partners who have helped make this possible and the team for their confidence in me. I also want to thank Nandi Kiss who organized my first test last year.

The season begins in Adelaide in February with two races on the fast street circuit. Fredrik is under no illusion about the challenge that awaits him.
– Not only is the track completely new to me but the car is too, and I will be up against competitors who know these tracks and cars a lot better. I know I’m in for a huge challenge but to say I’m motivated and looking forward to this is an understatement, I can’t wait to get this started. I will be up against drivers with many years of experience from both the Dunlop series and the main series but I will of course do my best to be competitive and progress through the year and gain experience.

Fredrik will drive for Rsport RACE Engineering from Dural just outside Sydney. The team is owned by Mark Robertson who has been involved in V8 Supercars and the Dunlop series for the past 14 years. He was present at the test last year and has worked ever since to make the switch to V8 Supercars possible for the Swede.
– I was asked to provide data analysis and technical support at the test Fredrik did for Nandi Kiss in September last year, and I was impressed with Fredrik’s professional approach and desire to succeed, explains Mark. He quickly reached the potential of the car and the tires given to him for the day, and after Bathurst we continued discussions about 2014. We left with a principal agreement for 2014 and I am very happy we together have managed to find the required funding both in Europe and Australia for this season. We are very pleased to be able to announce that Fredrik will drive for us in 2014.

About Fredrik Lestrup:

Fredrik Lestrup is a 29 year old racing driver from Stockholm, Sweden. His career in motorsport began in 2005 when he joined the Junior Touring Car Championship in Sweden. After having graduated to the Swedish Touring Car Championship two years later, Fredrik moved his career to Germany where he raced for several seasons in MINI Challenge. Then followed seasons in the Swedish and German GT Championships coupled with endurance races in Europe and Dubai including thus far seven 24-hour races at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, in Dubai and Barcelona. Besides racing Fredrik also works as a race engineer and driver coach.

The team:

Rsport RACE Engineering, based in Dural, NSW is owned by Mark Robertson and was started in 2013 as an extension from his motorsport service business. Mark Robertson has 14 years of experience from the Dunlop series where he started in 2000 in what was then called the Konica series winning the championship together with Dean Canto. Mark has also provided data and engineering services for V8 Supercar teams Romano Racing and Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport. The team will enjoy technical support packaged from Garry Rogers Motorsport.

The car:

The Holden Commodore is an ex-Garry Rogers Motorsport car built by Garry Rogers Motorsport in 2010 and debuted for the enduro races that year. The car was driven by Michael Caruso in the 2011 and 2012 season before the new COTF regulations were introduced in V8 Supercars in 2013. The car was delivered to Rsport Race Engineering in august 2013 and is fitted with a Walkinshaw Performance engine package. The car will make its Dunlop series debut in 2014 in the hands of Fredrik Lestrup and will be engineered by Rsport Race Engineering.

Dunlop V8 Supercar Series:

The Dunlop V8 Supercar series is the second highest level of touring car racing in Australia and a second tier championship for V8 Supercar competitors. The category is a feeder series for the well known V8 Supercars series and many drivers from the Dunlop series go on to the V8 Supercars. Many Dunlop Series drivers also typically double as co-drivers in the V8 Supercar enduros. The teams race with V8 Supercars from 2012 or older previously raced and used in the V8 Supercar championships. The season comprises seven race weekends including the legendary Bathurst and Adelaide circuits. Those weekends are shared with the V8 Supercars. Usually three races are held each weekend.

IDCC: Resultat från omgång 4 av IDCC 2013/2014


Nu är fjärde omgången av IDCC körd och det har tätnat till ordentligt i totaltabellerna.

I Grupp 1 har PC Racing Team efter ytterligare en vinst nu en ledning på hela 14 poäng och blir svåra att slå. Men bakom däremot är det tätare än någonsin, hela sex lag ligger inom 2 poäng från varandra och fightas om andraplatsen totalt.
I veckans race vann som sagt PC Racing Team med 12 sekunder före Midmarks som fått upp farten ordentligt. Trea blev Fullt Blås som ständigt håller sig på pallplaceringar.
Frånvarande däremot från racet var Heeds som ligger tvåa i tabellen och nu tappade greppet på PC Racing Team.

I grupp 2 tog Speedlab ytterligare en seger och utökade sin ledning i mästerskapet till hela 5 poäng. 26 sekunder bakom imål kom Stavves och avancerade lite i tabellen till tredjeplats.
Trea i racet kom FatBoy Slims efter ett ganska tufft race, endast 3,9 sekunder bakom Stavves imål. De satte även racets snabbaste tid på 32.993!
