It’s the third race weekend in ADAC Procar this weekend and this time the series heads to Lausitzring for two races at the combined oval track and road course. The action kicks off with free practice on this Friday followed by a qualifying and 30-minute race each on Saturday and Sunday.
Fredrik Lestrup heads to Lausitzring in good spirits after having won four out of four races so far this season with Besaplast Racing.
“I’m eager to go again and eager to win of course! Lausitzring is a special track I drove in GT Masters in 2012, a nice combination with parts of the oval track and the road course on the infield. The weather seems to be very warm this weekend so it will be hard work in the car and the car will also be pushed to the limit. Engine temperatures are critical so it will be important to get clear air in the race to cool the engine down as much as possible. Let’s go!”

There was no stopping Fredrik Lestrup when ADAC Procar went to Belgium and Zolder for the second round of the championship. Pole position for both races followed up by two victories and fastest lap in both races meant maximum points for this weekend and four wins out of four races so far for the Swede.
“Great work by everyone in the team and a fantastic weekend,” Fredrik says. “We made the most out of everything and I couldn’t be happier. Obviously not a bad weekend for the championship either.”
Fredrik’s closest challenger this weekend was teammate Kai Jordan who finished second in both races. This means Fredrik now has a healthy 20 point lead in the championship after the first two rounds and four races.
“The car is still getting better and better and I must thank the team, Besaplast and Team Dombek, for all their hard work. I look forward to the next weekend. We’ve started well but it’s a long way to go yet.”
Next race in the championship is at Lausitzring July 3th-5th, the third out of eight rounds.

The start of the ADAC Procar season couldn’t have been better for Fredrik Lestrup and Besaplast Racing. Arriving at Oschersleben with a brand new MINI, a car the team has built themselves from scratch and finished just mere days before the first practice expectations were surpassed with pole and victory in both races.
“What a start and that’s one impressive roll-out of a newly built car!” Fredrik says. “I can’t thank Besaplast and David Dombek enough for the hard work they have put in to make this new MINI as fast as it was from the start. It was nearly perfect straight out from the trailer and that is rare.”
Fredrik topped both qualifying sessions in dominant style and led both races from start to finish except a bit of a slow start in race one that put him on the back foot for a few corners before he could retake the lead. All in all it was a dominant display at Oschersleben.
“A lot of fun this weekend. I always enjoy the race weekends with Besaplast and winning both races from pole just adds to that. I’m so impressed by the new car they’ve built and I know how much hard work they have put it so I can’t thank them enough. We had a perfect weekend and big thanks to the team and all the partners who made this possible.”
Fredrik Lestrup obviously leads the championship after the first race weekend. The next race is at Zolder in Belgium June 5-7.

This weekend the season in the German touring car series ADAC Procar kicks off in Oschersleben in Germany. Fredrik Lestrup enters the championship in its highest class with a newly built MINI John Cooper Works S with Besaplast Racing for the top Division 1 category.
The team has built a new MINI and spent a lot of work on the aerodynamics and the engine power creating a MINI with 300 bhp and Fredrik believes they can challenge for the overall championship.
“I’m looking forward to the season and we are going for the championship this year”, he says. “There are some very competitive cars entered but Besaplast and David Dombek has done a great job building this new MINI and getting it ready in time for this weekend. It will be exciting to see where we stand but I have high hopes. The car certainly looks capable and Oschersleben is one of my favorite tracks. It was a while since I last raced but hopefully I can get up to speed quickly and we can find a set-up for the car that enable us to challenge from the start.”
ADAC Procar is held over eight race weekends in Germany and central Europe this year.

Fredrik Lestrup returns to the European racing scene in 2015 with a busy racing schedule that includes both the full ADAC Procar Championship in Germany as well ad Endurance racing with Besaplast Racing.
He will return to the MINI cockpit as the team will build a brand new MINI GP2 for the Division 1 category in the ADAC Procar Championship. Six of eight race weekends around Europe has been announced with two more yet to be confirmed. The championship will share weekends with ADAC GT Masters, Blancpain Endurance series and FIA ETCC.
Fredrik Lestrup will drive a brand new MINI GP2 prepared and built by Dombek Motorsport in the highest category, and he looks forward to return to the European racing scene.
“After this season I was looking at other opportunities outside racing but when David Dombek and Besaplast approached me with this suggestion I was immediately attracted by the idea”, Fredrik says. “They were prepared to build me a new car and had familiar partners prepared to support the project. I feel humbled by the support they have shown to get me in the car and was very attracted by the idea. The team showed this year they can be competitive with the MINI:s against the S2000 cars in Division 1, and I think we can go for race wins and a top position in the championship. It was an easy decision to make.”
Fredrik will also continue with Besaplast Racing in various Endurance races throughout the year, starting with the Dubai 24-hours in January. 12-hour races at Mugello and Zandvoort as well as the 24-hour races at Nürburgring and Barcelona are also planned. Fredrik will drive both the teams Audi TT-RS and the MINI John Cooper Works Endurance in the endurance races for Besaplast Racing.
“Besaplast and Dombek Motorsport work closely together so it was an easy fit to add the Endurance races for Besaplast to the schedule and I’m honoured to once again be called up by Besaplast to do these 12 and 24-hour races,” Fredrik says. “It will be a busy year with over 13 race weekends so I’m happy to have such a big programme planned this early.”
In addition to his own racing Fredrik Lestrup also plans to enter his own MINI in various Endurance races in Sweden and Europe during the year.
